Born in 1945 Ian Fraser Kilmister changed his Christian name to Lemmy and immersed himself in rock music. In 1975 he formed Motorhead which became a byword for rock 'n' roll excess. His autobiography offers hints on how the band have managed to survive for so long and still managed to carry the fans along.
