Intensity

Koontz, Dean R. (Dean Ray), 1945-2017
Books, Manuscripts
Chyna Shepherd's violent childhood taught her to be a survivor. But nothing prepared her for Edgler Vess. A sociopath intent on murder, Vess lives for one purpose only: to satisfy all appetites as they arise, seeking ever more outrageous experiences, and immersing himself in sensation. When he attacks her friend Laura, Chyna's instincts are to protect her. Not knowing Laura is already dead, Chyna follows when Vess carries her body to his motorhome - a dungeon and morgue on wheels. She hoped to save Laura, but instead becomes trapped there as the killer drives away. At first Chyna's sole aim is to get out alive. But when she learns the identity of the killer's next victim, Chyna must face the fact that a moral life requires the acceptance of unwanted responsibilities. She discovers depths of courage she didn't know she possessed - and takes risks beyond any that she could ever have imagined.
