Owen Tudor : founding father of the Tudor dynasty

Breverton, Terry, 1946-2017
Books, Manuscripts
For generations, the ancestors of Welshman Owen Tudor had fought Romans, Irish Picts, Vikings, Saxons, Mercians and Normans. His uncles had been executed in the Glyndwr Welsh War of Independence, his father pardoned, but his estates stripped from him. Owen's now landless father took him to London to try and find employment, and Owen fought for Henry V in France. He entered the service of Henry's Queen, Catherine of Valois, and soon after the king's death he secretly married her, the mother of the 8-month-old Henry VI.
